Made from hard maple and maple veneer premium plywood and finished with Danish natural oil, this spooler is 9-1/2" tall with a machine-ground stainless steel shaft that gradually goes from 0.2" at the tip to 0.3125" at the bottom Tapered and will accommodate most commercially available spools and many. LeClerc spools, Schacht spools and spools, and Harrisville spools are known to fit. This spool does not fit Ashford plastic spools. The accompanying pictures only show some of the spools that can be used with this winder just fine. The bearings are sealed and require no maintenance, and the belts are high-quality durable polyurethane belts (the kind used on many spinning wheels). This winder winds the bobbin at an 11:1 ratio (one wheel turns the bobbin 11 times). The spool is not included. The included clip will hold any lip table up to 2-1/4 inches thick.
