The 1876 Cape Cod Collection was produced in a beautiful shade of Ruby Red Glass, making it one of the most sought after patterns by collectors. The 1876 Cape Cod pattern was inspired by the delicate lacy rosette pattern used by the Romans. Introduced in 1975, Avon chose the "1876" name because of the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial, which celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Wheaton Glass Company was contracted by Avon to produce the Ruby Red pressed glass shop that we know today as the "1876 Ruby Red Cape Cod" Collection! The 1876 Cape Cod collection is a pressed glass product which causes slight variances in color from piece to piece. This listing includes four dinner plates measuring 10 3/4” in diameter.
