This is such a iconic classic mid-century design from famed designer Russel Wright. Designed in 1937 with production beginning in 1939 continuing to 1950. The glaze is black chutney, a mottled mix of various shades of brown. No chips, cracks or crazing but there is some scratches in the glaze as shown in last photo.
