Richenda Stevick Peasant Woman and Babe Rare Ceramic shop Signed Stunning Excellent example of the work of noted California ceramist Richenda Stevick. This piece was produced at California Faience in the late 1930's - early 1940's. A similar example was included in the landmark exhibition The Potter's Art In California: 1885 to 1955, held at the Oakland Museum; Scripps College's Lang Gallery in 1978 with accompanying catalog by curator Hazel Bray. According to the catalog, the work's title is Peasant Woman and Babe and the date given is c1940. Beautifully glazed. DATE: c1940 MARKS: Incised "STEVICK" on bottom (see images). CONDITION: Excellent.
