Pictures truly do not do it justice. This is a vintage Reuge music and jewelry box in the shape of an oval with an inlay of flowers on the lid and a glossy finish. Time gone by has made the wood even more beautiful. There is a small chip in the lid, as shown in the picture. It has a key to lock it and a mirror on the inside in the lid. It has a stamp "Made In Italy" and a Swiss musical movement. It plays Lara's Theme from Doctor Zhivago, but it plays at a very very very slow speed. It is not overwound, I think the gears just need to be oiled, maybe. It has four small feet on the bottom about 1/2" high and measures about 9 3/4" long on the top and 6 3/4" wide and stands about 2 3/4" high. The soft red velvet type material inside is in good condition, as well as the mirror, which has a rope-like adornment around it.
