Product code: ANTIQUE 1800'S WHITES OF UTICA STONEWARE shop PROSIT JUG / PITCHER NY POTTERY -RELIEF
very early unique stoneware beer jug / pitcher from the late 1800's classified as WHITES OF UTICA NY POTTERY PROSIT. Piece is extremely well made weighing 4 1/2 LBS and measuring 11 Inches X 8 1/2 Inches. Pitcher is very ornate with many different decorative standards and reliefs. It is very unusual to find such High Relief Molding on Whites Stoneware which makes this a highly decorative piece. Also of note is the very unusual serpent or snake handle. Each side depicts men of nobility from the time period of creation (1800's). Above each human relief lies a cobalt blue dog head on each side. Front reads je böser das weib je schöner die kneip! — the worse the woman, the more beautiful the pub! Lol!! This is an extremely good example of early American Pottery and are becoming harder shop and harder to find! A great investment piece as well as eye grabbing decorative display! Any questions please ask! Great condition!!.
