Product Name: Vintage Hand shop Carved Spanish Alabaster Stone Asian Statues Figurine
Pair of Asian hand carved sculptures made in Madrid, Spain. White with translucent and darker veins running through. Statues show signs of very little wear from age and a couple of flea marks common as it is a softer stone. Natural patina in the deeper places, many statues of this period had fake patina or colorings added. in the Very shop nice heavy collectible Asian Chinese home decor statues figurines. The bottom of the man is drilled presumably to make into lamp, I do suspect his pedestal was dyed rather than brown alabaster. Measures 13.75 inches tall and 4 inches at base. The Chinoiserie trend was popular in the late 1950's to early 1960's but is starting to get a resurgence.
