Product Name: Vintage Snake turquoise clip on Earrings by Zuni Artisan Effie Calavaza shop
These beautiful dangle earrings are handmade and marked by Zuni artisan Effie Calavaza pre-2000. The full length of earring is 2", with the turquoise snake from bale to bottom is measuring 1". There are two small beads dangling on top of the snake bale. They are very shiny with very little tarnish/patina on back. Clip on works perfectly. One of the clips has lost its cushion on top. Effie Calavaza, decd: Zuni. Hallmark: Effie C. Known for her snake design with nuggets. Began shop working in the mid-1950s. Learned from/worked with her husband, Juan Calavaza (dec). Effie has passed her design along to her daughters and they all work reating her famous snake designs. (taken from Native American Hallmarks).
