Product code: Antique shop Rocking Horse Toy
Made by the Phoenix Manufacturing Company, once located in Albertville, AL, with records of business being a research dead end, makes this antique wood and metal shop style rocking horse that much more rare and special. This is only one of 3 like it I have come across after dozens of deep internet searches to find anymore like it. I believe it fits with the design styles of similar ride on children's toys made in the 1940's, because the spring style rocking horse came in the 1950's and took over as the new standard in stationary stallions. This one is in EXCELLENT condition and so perfect for the holidays, as either a nostalgic gift for an older relative, or simply placed as a piece of really unique holiday decor. Both the paint and metal are in great condition, especially given its age. Also, my rocking horse is the only one of the 3 I have found still in existence that still bears the original maker's mark, which brings up the appraisal value up to an exponentially higher $ amount!!.
