Once known for her beauty, she was thought to be a snake-haired monster whose gaze turned anyone into stone. This cup records all the tragedies that happened. On each side of the cup, Medusa's severed head is carved in bronze. Her sharp eyes and her snake protruded from the cup, and in order to decapitate Medusa, in the hands of Zeus, holding the snake, Medusa's head drooped, forming the handle of the cup.
