Overview: Up for sale is an absolutely beautiful oil on board painting by listed California, Nevada and Hawaii artist, Leonard Herbert (1904-2013). Herbert was well-known for his still life, impressionism and mural paintings. He was active in Los Angeles in the 1950's and 1960's. He moved to Kauai, and won a state award for painting. This piece is dated 1975 and depicts a beautiful and colorful floral scene. It is signed and dated at lower right. Based on the date, it was likely painted in Hawaii. It comes framed in a wonderful midcentury style frame with wide matting space. An absolute gem. Condition: The painting is in excellent condition. There is one small nick on the frame at lower center and a slight smudge on the matting at upper center. Measurements: Painting measures approximately 20 inches wide x 8 inches high. Frame measures approximately 28.75 inches wide x 16.5 inches high shop.
