The sample tapes I've used will turn and play for a few seconds and then stop and the screen flashes the tape icon shown in the last shop picture of the listing. Sometimes the tape will play longer, so I'm not sure if it's the tape or the player. Based on details above, I am selling as-is for parts or repair only. It could just require a good cleaning, but I don't have enough knowledge about the player to do that.
