Bellino had one of the best seasons of the 1960's and easily won the Heisman. Bellino then went to serve 4 years of active duty, of which he would spend 28 in total. He was drafted by both NFL's Washington Redskins & AFL's Boston Patriots and played in 35 games for Boston, after not touching a football for 4 years.
