These hand carved bowls are not made from store bought lumber. They are made from raw wood directly from a harvested tree. This is what gives the bowl its beauty and character. What you get by selecting the bowl is "for candles", the main thing we look for is that it will hold wax. So, we may have to avoid some of the beautiful bowl characteristics to prevent leakage. We are now repairing some of the areas of concern with a paintable, heat tolerable, water resistant product. We have water tested this type of repair and it is working to prevent leaks. All the repairs will be out of sight when you pour the wax. Some do a water test prior to pouring wax and this is completely up to you.
